Last April we introduced the Fill a Bucket Programme in our school. This programme encourages positive behaviour and helps children see how rewarding it is to express daily kindness, appreciation and love.
Bucket Filling and dipping are effective metaphors for understanding the effects of our actions and words on the wellbeing of others and ourselves.
The programme goes hand in hand with our school ethos – that ‘only kindness is tolerated in Scoil na gCailini’. It has been very successful, the children have been really enthusiastic and co-operative in implementing it.
